RANvirtual complies with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR)

PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT

The purpose of this policy is to:

1. Describe how RANvirtual collects and uses personal information.

2. Comply with the VATSIM Special Operations Policy.

3. Project the members of RANvirtual.

APPLICABILITY

This policy applies to any current or former RANvirtual member or member who has applied to RANvirtual.

Data Collection and use

RANvirtual does not sell, share or rent personal information to others and all personal information is contained within RANvirtual domains only. 

The information we collect from you is:

• Full Name

• Email Address

• IP Address

• VATSIM CID

• ACARS Portal PIN (Encrypted)

By applying to RANvirtual on our website(s) you are agreeing to RANvirtual collecting your data as listed above and as such may only be used by RANvirtual. We use the information listed above to create your pilot profile on acars.pnxairv.org.

VATSIM user rights

RANvirtual is a VATSIM Partner and therefore will comply with the VATSIM User Policies.

As a VATSIM users have a number of rights, including but not limited to: 

• A right to be informed about why we collect your data.

• A right to access your data and view the data collected on you. This data will be released to you on written request. To protect the privacy of VATSIM staff members the names of individual staff members making entries on your record and other security measures may be redacted:

• A right to rectify data you believe to be inaccurate.

• The right to request your personal data be erased from the RANvirtual. This will result in the termination of your RANvirtual membership.

Data retention

RANvirtual will retain the information you submit during your initial application to aid in re-application or prevent members who have been permanently removed from RANvirtual due to policy breaches.

Cookies

RANvirtual may use cookies on our sites. A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive which is used to track you through our site and for network security. RANvirtual has no access to or control over these cookies.

Surveys

From time to time RANvirtual may request a general information from you during a survey. These surveys are conducted through Google Forms and the information collect remains within the Google form are not transcribed or shared elsewhere.

Amendments

Any amendments to this policy will be notified through the RANvirtual Discord.
